Let Live Conference, the final countdown.

Come get busy.
Detailed conference schedule.
Detailed conference schedule.

Hi everybody. Listen up! Here's the info you need to know about the 1st Annual Let Live NW Animal Rights Conference taking place next weekend on the Portland State University campus in the Smith Memorial Building.

If you plan on coming (and honestly, if you consider yourself to be or would like to be an effective advocate for animals, you really should be there) you should try your best to either pre-register soon (online or at Food Fight!) or make sure you're there early on Saturday. There is a very real chance this will fill up and we'd hate for you to miss out. Space is limited, so don't be mad at us if you show up and it's sold out. We've warned you enough.

Now, to the timeline...

Friday night, June 27th. Kickoff will be a chill evening of hanging out with good, cheap food and fun. We'll all be hanging out from 6-8pm, eating from the awesome taco bar (brought to you by our pals at Los Gorditos). Not sure what else, but there will be words spoken from the organizers and some general meeting and greeting and networking and such. Show up early, as food will probably run out. It will be in the Smith Memorial Ballroom (SMSU 355, same building as the conference, on the third floor.) You can also check in this day, so you don't have to stand in line Saturday morning.

Saturday, June 28th. Workshops and talks will be going on from 9am-6pm. There will be lunch and softserve for sale from Blossoming Lotus, sweets from SweetPea, and other snacks, too.

Saturday night is fun party time. Here's the officlal wording we sent out in a bulletin already:
"Are you ready to blow off some steam? Saturday, June 28th at 8pm the Let Live Conference will be holding a benefit at Portland's best Vegan Bar; Bye & Bye! Portland's own Vegan Human-Beat-Box Fogatron will be joined by DJ B.Rad, DJ Ill Lordess, and DJ Roane spinning awesome beats. Dont forget Bye & Bye's awesome vegan food and large alcohol selection!

A sliding scale donation of 5-10$ will be requested at the door. 21+ Please!

Are you coming from the PSU campus? There will be a shuttle running between PSU (Harrison Broadway) and Bye & Bye (1011 NE Alberta ST) from 7:30pm-1:30am. Just a mere $2 a trip!"

Sunday, June 29th. More workshops and talks starting at 10am and wrapping up 4:15pm.

It is also going to be an active weekend of independently organized demonstrations around town. Show up and you'll see fliers and info all over the place to know where to go.

OK, please come out this weekend. We have high hopes for this event and it has been a ton of work. Come be a part and help kick-start a new wave of effective activism in the NW.

Much love,
