If you're a PDX animal rights activist, Adam Berger thinks you're an idiot.
Owner of the vegan restaurant Nutshell, Adam stated on video that he would stop serving foie grois at Ten-01, his upscale Pearl district establishment.
Adam made this promise after a group of activists had gathered outside of Ten-01 on a Friday afternoon to express their disappointment that the owner of a vegan establishment was also making money from the sale of foie gras, one of the cruelest of factory farming techniques.
The activists thanked Adam and dispersed. PDX ADL, a local grassroots animal rights organization, went as far as to publicly thank Ten-01 on their website for making this compassionate choice.
That's how the situation has remained. Vegans felt more at ease supporting Nutshell, knowing that the owners did not profit from this horrific practice.
Thanks to an investigation, it has been discovered that Adam has lied. In an attempt to trick local animal rights activists into sparing his business from their attention, Adam has secretly placed the diseased liver back on the menu.
We trusted Adam, as the owner of Nutshell, and now our trust has been broken and our patience has been spent.
Let this hypocrite know what you think of his deceit!
Join us Friday, June 20th, for a demo against Ten-01 in the Pearl! If you can't make it please call them anyway and express your feelings at being deceived by the owner of a vegan restaurant!
A pre-demo uniformity and solidarity meeting is at 6:30 pm at NW 10th and Davis right near Blossoming Lotus. Then, at 7pm we will demo Ten-01.
