Benefit for Jonathan Paul

Jonathan Paul is an animal and environmental activist who has dedicated his life to protecting the earth and alleviating the suffering of animals and people. He is currently serving a 51-month sentence in federal prison for his role in the 1997 arson of the Cavel West horse slaughterhouse in Redmond, Oregon. Every week more than 500 horses were slaughtered at Cavel West. The arson destroyed the slaughterhouse and it has never been rebuilt, leaving wild horses to run free. Jonathan needs and deserves your support. Come to the benefit and see a slideshow about Jonathan, hear attorney Lauren Regan discuss the government's "green scare" crackdown on activists, and enjoy music by local old time musicians.

I saw the Cavel West horse slaughter facility in Redmond several times. It is NOT Jonathan Paul who should be sitting in a prison cell today. Thank you, Jonathan, for having the courage and love for both the animals and the environment. Your commitment was commendable your sentence was unjust. Stay strong.
