Prince wins again

When Blackwater comes here, Portland will be lost to the darkness of their whims. If we cannot control PPI, do we really think we stand a chance against Blackwater?
Keep your eye on this company. They are gearing up to take control of the United States Military and help the New World Order usher in the Military Police State.

Erik Prince has been questioned by Congress as to Blackwater's activities, but no forward moving action has been taken. Blackwater's control continues to grow globally, and here in the Homeland. Despite investigations by the FBI and the IRS, the U. S. Government has renewed their contract for Iraq security services.

Unfortunately, U.S. citizens seem thus far incapable of controlling these private policing companies. The City of Portland is a perfect example. We have been unsuccessful in the struggle to obtain citizen or government oversight of PPI, a local private policing company. They carry guns, dress and act like Portland Police Officers, exert authority as if they were actual police officers, but ARE NOT. There is no government oversight of these individuals, or opportunity for citizen involvement in their policies and procedures.

Portland Mercury- April 3, 2008:
"They dress almost exactly like real cops, and many carry guns, but unlike Portland's professionally trained union police officers, they have no open oversight procedure."

Scary.

I have no solution to the private mercenary mess, so I welcome any ideas. Signs, protest, etc will not be effective here. So far, I have only keyboard warrior'd to my congresspersons, passed out flyers and posted info online.

U.S. Renews Blackwater Deal

By BLOOMBERG NEWS
Published: April 5, 2008

The State Department renewed a contract for one year with Blackwater to guard American diplomats in Baghdad, where the company has come under scrutiny for incidents in which civilians died.

Gregory Starr, the acting assistant secretary of state for diplomatic security, told reporters in Washington on Friday that security needs required the renewal of the contract. The arrangement was set to expire next month.

The F.B.I. is looking into a September shooting in Baghdad involving Blackwater personnel that left at least 17 Iraqis dead. Blackwater said it was protecting a diplomatic convoy.

Blackwater guards were involved in other incidents in which Iraqis were shot, a House oversight panel said last year.

Blackwater has said its guards acted in self-defense in the September shooting. A spokeswoman, Anne Tyrrell, had no comment on the contract renewal.
