THE CURRENT CRISIS could well turn out to be the most devastating since the Great Depression. It manifests profound, unresolved problems in the real economy that have been — literally — papered over by debt for decades, as well as a shorter term financial crunch.
And that is just what The Powers That Be are counting on. The trucks will stop bringing produce to your neighborhood. The police will come into your house and steal all your food. Do not be fooled by those who say it can't happen here. It can, and it will. Probably rather soon. Stock up on blackeye peas, lentils, and brown rice, dry milk, chocolate, condiments, etc. And forks. Find local sources of water, and have chlorine purifier tablets. Have paper napkins, iodine and tape for wounds (and to rub on your stomach in any nuclear attack), Have heavy plastic bags to put stuff in, Goop glue to seal it, and large plastic container to put them in, and shovels to bury it deep so the police won't steal it. Get a good tent or two, and befriend a farmer. Act normal, scared, and helpless (at least at first). Get closer to your friends and family and talk about what you will do.
