Bike Militia Project

Creating safer and friendlier local transport and building steps toward genuinely autonomous communities.
See attached graphic.

The wildebeest bike militia is beginning a service of bike escorts (not that kind of escort!) within the community. If you want someone to come out and bike with you from point A to point B contact us. We'll see if we can schedule someone to meet you at a specific date and time.

Instances we imagine this might apply (yet not limited to):
- You get out of work late and don't feel comfortable biking home alone in the night when your powers of light are not bolstered by the beautiful sun.
- You know you will be out on the weekend and would like a friend to see you safely home and while casting silvery magicks on the way.
- You happen to bike in places where cars are also present and would like comrades to increase the collective visibility and strength of your convoy in the presence of such potentially malevolent contraptions.
- You like to hang out with people (generally quite silly people) who are actually quite serious in wanting to make our communities safer, friendlier and more (A)utonomous while eating cookies, riding bikes and occasionally painting pictures.

This is the first try for this service and we are eager for comments and feedback. We are here not just because this is something we want to do but also because hopefully this is something the community wants us to do. Let us know. Thank you.

this s a great idea.... and i would suggest..

that it should resurrect (if its not around)
Anarchist Postal Service

As prices of food and basic commodities rise up in price (due to the petroleum based transportation system) a bike maybe as valuable as a horse in 1850. If I had any money to invest (and was a capitalist.. which I am not) I would invest in the bike related "industry". Some years ago there was the idea of having public bikes (painted yellow) for general public use.

I every bit as much strongly agree with EY that "this is a great idea" as i disagree that it should have anything to do with the politic of the black uniform. I'm not dissin' out anarchy in general. I'm sayin' don't allow others to ruin this beautiful thing, as they did with forest defense, by politicizing and factionalizing it.If it tries to make you feel bad about yourself or somebody else because of something you say or eat or wear, please do us all a favor and send that black uniform down that dark street without a flashy light. This is about empowering bicyclists, right? Then keep it THAT simple and this will succeed beyond your wildest wildebeast expectations.

me again

"i disagree that it should have anything to do with the politic of the black uniform [emphasis added]" "don't allow others to ruin this beautiful thing, as they did with forest defense, by politicizing and factionalizing it" aren't you in the first quote advocating doing to anarchists precisely what your second quote alleges anarchists have done to non-anarchists?
