Comcast censored my email!

A single confirmed incident of Comcast censorship occurred on 12/17/07. The newsletter, GI Special, could not be delivered to the Comcast subscribers.
Comcast Censoring Your GI Special

Comcast is repeatedly refusing to send GI Special from the GI Special home email address to you and other people with Comcast email addresses who have asked to receive the publication, which is nothing more nor less than censorship.

That is why you're receiving this GI Special from a different email address.

This is the Comcast message, which claims your email address is no good.

"A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients . This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

[your address is inserted here]

retry time not reached for any host after a long failure period"

We have been in touch with some Comcast subscribers individually to check, and have confirmed this is lying bullshit put out by Comcast. The addresses do not "fail."

If you have an alternative email address, please send.

Given that Comcast has chosen to decide what reading is good for you, and what is not, it would be intelligent to have nothing further to do with them, and get a different email address.

You have no way to know what other emails to you Comcast is censoring, because they don't tell you.

You might also wish to call and tell Comcast what you think of their deciding what mail you will or will not receive, behind your back.

Solidarity,

T
GI Special

That is not evidence of blocking in any way. That is an error when one mail server isn't able to route mail to another, and gives up after trying for a certain, predefined amount of time. This happens fairly frequently, sometimes with comcast, sometimes other ISPs as well.

The only reason all Comcast users would be impacted is because such a routing problem will affect all (or most) users of whatever ISP isn't receiving the traffic.
