Betsy Lamb denied bail in AZ.

An Oregon peace activist is being held in jail pending trial tentatively set for Feb. 4. Betsy Lamb of Redmond, a retired Catholic lay teacher, and Franciscan Father Jerry Zawada were arrested while attempting to enter Ft. Huachuca, home of a US Interrogation Training School.
At their arraignment on Dec.10 (International Human Right's Day) they were deemed "a flight risk and danger to the community". Bail was denied and they are to remain in custody until their trial that is currently set for Feb. 4.

They join Fr. Louie Vitale and Fr. Steve Kelly who are serving 5 month sentences for protesting torture at Ft. Huachuca.

Betsy Lamb is one of the Code Pink women who staged a 12 hour sit-in in Rep. Greg Walden's office in Bend, demanding he stop supporting the Iraq war. This was on March 20, 2007. And on Sept. 4, Ms Lamb was arrested for disorderly conduct as part of a die-in also at Walden's office.
