France: Social Security workers to strike over purchase power

In a week that has seen Sarkozy's approval rating drop below 50% yet another group of workers prepares to fight back against worsening conditions.

(100 000s of workers have been already on strike in the last weeks. Among them: railway workers, power plant employees, metro-drivers, teachers and more... Also the students are on strike since months... not to forget: the uprising of the ghettos...)

In a week that has seen Sarkozy's approval rating drop below 50% yet another group of workers prepares to fight back against worsening conditions.
The diminishing purchase power of workers due to stagnant wages and inflation is a cause for nationwide concern, with workers demanding pay increases and bonuses to make back the losses from sub-inflation offers in previous years.

Social Security workers on the FO and CGT unions have announced that they will strike on Decembr 6th if their salaries are not increased. Workers are demanding that the base from which all salaries are calculated be increased, they are further demanding that to bring them in line with the minimum wage the percentage used to calculate salaries should be increased by 4% at every level.

They are also demanding that the surpluses that have been produced be returned to the workers as a bonus. Management has been willing to offer a derisory 150 (100)
Workers are also demanding assurances over their pensions and that permanent replacements are hired for retiring workers, this year saw 2600 retirees not replaced and a further 10000 posts are set to be lost next year.

Report of Lyon police assault on blocked campus 30.Nov.2007 09:48

Merlin Rouge

22h40 on November 28, 2007: The university of Lyon 2 - Bron was taken by storm by the member of the anti-riot polices, crs, baqueux. A number of students seem to be hurt. Calls go out to come as soon as possible with if possible camera and videocameras to try to dissuade any police violence, and to resist and support the occupation. At midnight, about sixty students were removed (or left???) . 13 arrests on the whole. People on the spot indicate that a watchman of the FAC identifies certain people who are then stopped by the cops; others speak about a guard of the store where an action for"free supermarket" in the afternoon took place!

15h30: Gathering in front of the court to support the arrested people last night, and still in police custody.

16 H Friday November 30, 2007: the 13 arrested people from Wednesday evening left the court little by little. This was after the supermarket incident referred to above in the main article.

Indymedia Lyon reports:
"Let us point out the completely arbitrary character of these arrests: for example among the people put under examination, one took sound for a broadcast on the radio. Around fifty of people took part in the requisition in the supermarket, and ten got charged. Order reigns".

Sarkozy should resign as he is devil spawn sent to destroy and divide France 30.Nov.2007 09:57

francophile

"In a week that has seen Sarkozy's approval rating drop below 50%..."

It's about time. French national e-vote fraud put him in place. Only his party loved the e-vote machines. The little french fascist has to get out! He should resign immediately!

Title: Sarkozy steals French Presidential Runoff election with American ES&S e-vote machines
Author: Wayne Madsen reposts
Date: 2007.05.07 09:20
Description: The runoff demographics weren't there for his win. Only Sarkozy supports unverifiable e-vote machines for France which were widely utilized. France, you better learn your lesson now: your government has just turned fascist. Get them out now. Get rid of and destroy fake vote machines. Remember that the fascist globalists are mad at France for saying 'non' to the fascist EU. They are going to attempt to take over your country to force you into the massively corrupt EU unelected government which is a government by diktat, without appeal, the way polices are set up. "ES&S's I-Votronic machines were used in both elections across France. Only Sarkozy's party was supportive of the machines, with all the other political parties calling for a moratorium on their use. Turnout in the French election was 85 percent. With large turnouts historically favoring the left in France, the exit polling and actual polling were at odds with the turnout -- an indication of massive election fraud." --- "As with the U.S. and Mexican presidential elections, the polls are being artificially fixed to reflect the upcoming skewed exit polls, a major component of the neo-cons' main contrivance to maintain political control -- "election engineering." IPSOS, the Paris-based marketing firm that sits at the core of most reported French presidential election polls, including those of the Associated Press, owns some 40 market research and opinion companies around the world, including the United Kingdom's MORI. It has a vested interest in the election of the extreme pro-business Sarkozy.

As a further indication that Sarkozy's neo-con media friends, especially those at Le Figaro, are skewing the opinion polls, Sarkozy is still running ahead of Royal ***although a clear majority of centrist candidate Francois Bayrou's supporters are favoring Royal*** in the May 6 run-off and far right-wing candidate Jean-Marie Le Pen has urged his supporters to abstain in the run-off.

Bayrou said that he will not vote for Sarkozy.

The real political math of French Left + majority of Bayrou supporters and majority abstentions by Le Pean supporters equals no significant net gain for Sarkozy in the second round and should reflect a sizeable jump in the numbers for Royal. As with the U.S. and Mexican presidential elections, the polls are being artificially fixed to reflect the upcoming skewed exit polls, a major component of the neo-cons' main contrivance to maintain political control -- "election engineering."
