OREGONIANS SPEAK OUT AGAINST REPRESSION IN OAXACA, IMMIGRATION RAIDS IN
On the one year anniversary of a violent police raid on striking teachers,
community members call for a end to intimidation and violence, in Oaxaca and Oregon.

What: A press conference to address the continued human rights abuses in
Oaxaca, Mexico. June 14th is significant because exactly one year ago,
the governor of Oaxaca, Ulises Ruiz ordered a violent police raid on
striking teachers. A megamarch in Oaxaca City will be taking place to
remember the dead, disappeared, and imprisoned and to call for the
resignation of Ulises Ruiz.
Community organizers will also comment on the impact of the Immigration
Customs Enforcement raids in Portland on Tuesday.
