Did the americans blow up the Al-Sarafiya bridge? A report in Baghdad Dweller indicates they might have
Al-Sarafiya bridge bombing... .deja vu from Al-Askari shrine

Just like the bombing of Al-Askari shrine, Al-sarafiya bridge witnessed strange events hours before the bombing.

Iraqirabita quoting an eyewitness lives in Al-Atafiya - western side of the river says she woke up 07,10 this morning because of the unusual sounds of Americans helicopters above the river Tigris.

I thought that this a beginning of an raid in our neighborhood, to be sure I went upstairs to see where are these helicopters are heading to.

I saw with my own eyes a helicopter firing two missiles, I heard an explosion, then I saw the bridge collapsed.

Another report says... ..It is interesting to note this morning Iraqi police blocked the traffic on the bridge for more than two hours, shortly before the explosion they allowed civilians cars to cross the river, which confirms that there is an orchestrated destruction of Al-Sarafiya bridge and resumption of movement by the time of the bombing was to cover up the actions of the "bombers"Ò

If you think that this is a joke then here is the Chairman of Iraqi parliament "Al-Mashadani" also questions this act revealing that this planed a month ago to separate Baghdad's both sides, making it easy to control

The Al-Askari shrine for sure. It could be that the war is going exactly as planned. The thing that most people don't understand is that the people in charge are not patriotic Americans. They don't give a damn how many of our soldiers die, that's our problem. We're paying for the war, not them. How many Iraqis die isn't even worth counting.

Usually the truth is exactly the opposite of the official story. No counter examples come immediately to mind.

Fred is right. Something that irritates me about the U.S. corporate press, even liberal wing of it, is that they are prone to repeating that the "Iraq war is a disaster", without saying a disaster for whom...and sayig that the Bush/U.S. invasion is getting "out of control and into civil war".

First, the Iraq war isn't a disaster for the military industial complex based in McCain's Arizona or Bush'es Texas. They are making money to beat the band. Its high times in Arizona and Texas. Just go there on a visit like I did and see an endless string of late model S.U.V.s, usually white with Yellow Ribbons on them.

The war is a resounding success for those who designed it, i.e. those who wanted to make a killing.

Second, one of the oldest rules of warfare is to "divide and conquer." The U.S. fosters civil war in every way it can, every minute it can. The U.S. military blows up civilian targets and blames it on the other side. The U.S. war profiteers want the oil (duh). For the U.S. to get and keep the oil, it needs a weak central government for Iraq. As long as one faction fights another, and both fight Kurds, the U.S. overlord is happy. U.S. soldier's caught in the middle aren't neccesarily happy. But cannon fodder to feed the war machine -- since when did they account for much.
