Katrina Rescue: 18 Months Later
Everyone still has the images in their heads of the worst natural disaster in recent memory and the heroic efforts of the individuals who rescued the animals who were left behind. But now that the news headlines from Hurricane Katrina have ended, the plight of homeless pets in the devastated gulf region of Mississippi and Louisiana goes on. Tune in to hear directly from two grassroots volunteers, Stephanie Wilson, an independent rescuer in the Billoxy/Gulfport region, and Robin Beaulieu of Animal Rescue New Orleans, who are on the front lines of the continuing effort to bring these companion animals to safety.
