A friend of mine, David R. Kimball from Sacramento's 9-11 Truth movement, recently sent me the following:
"There are actually two sample letters which I wrote that can be used to approach ones' congressperson/senator with regard to 9/11. The strategy is this: First, either on ones' own or preferably with a group call or go in person to the congressperson's or senator's main office or branch office and request a meeting with him or her. The requested meeting with the congressperson or senator can be either in person or by conference call. Once you have the meeting date confirmed, send an introductory letter such as the sample INTRODUCTORY LETTER below. Following this letter, attend the meeting and give or have sent to the congressperson/senator some informative material (books, DVD's, magazines, etc.) regarding 9/11 truth. Then send the FOLLOW-UP LETTER again requesting that this issue be addressed in a specific way, and requesting a follow-up meeting.

We the undersigned are your constituents in [name of County] who are scheduled to speak with you by telephone on [date and time of day]. We're concerned about the direction our nation has taken especially since the events of September 11th, and we feel that these events deserve further scrutiny.
After September 11, 2001, we were told that "9/11" "changed everything". We were also told that nothing would ever be the same in America again and that we were now in a state of ongoing emergency; "all cards were on the table".
Benjamin Franklin once warned that those who are willing to exchange their freedom for more security deserve neither.
Since September 11th, much in our Bill of Rights and Constitution was nullified, for example, by the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act; the latter destroys "habeas corpus", a person's right to challenge their detention in court. Bush's "signing statements" have undermined Congress itself in that Bush in these statements refuses to abide by laws that Congress has enacted. The un-American use of torture has been openly advocated by Bush and Cheney. Surveillance of law-abiding citizens has been promoted. Executive Orders have been written, giving Bush extra-Constitutional powers. An unending "war on terror" has been embarked upon, and the United States now has a policy of pre-emptive attack on any nation it so chooses. Somalia has been the target of recent air strikes. Two nations - Afghanistan and Iraq - have so far been bombed, invaded, and occupied with enormous costs, in dollars and in human lives, to Americans and to innocent Iraqi and Afghani civilians in their own countries. What Eisenhower warned us about - "the military industrial complex" - has grown exponentially with gargantuan infusions of our tax dollars; over ten billion dollars per month is spent on the war.
All of this, and more, has been "justified" by the mass-murder known as "9/11".
Yet many questions remain about "9/11" itself, and its aftermath. Think about it. "9/11" was most certainly a crime, and yet no real criminal investigation was ever conducted. There was no official "crime scene" with investigative agencies taking samples, photographing, etc., and then following the trail of the evidence. Instead, with the country still traumatized, the evidence at "Ground Zero" was destroyed as rapidly as possible, the steel shipped out of the country on barges. (Fire Engineering Magazine protested in a blistering editorial about this in its January, 2002 issue, but to no avail. See
 link to fe.pennnet.com.) We were given a story about Muslims with box-cutters, and expected to simply take the word of our "leaders" and to blindly believe what they told us through the media.
Partly because of the lack of a real investigation, a huge body of research has been done apart from the reluctantly formed, circumscribed and under-funded "9/11 Commission", headed by Bush-crony Philip Zelikow as Director. Many articles have been written, and books and videos of an informational and educational nature independently produced in order to get the facts of "9/11" to the public - facts largely unreported in any U.S. media - such as the implosion, in less than seven seconds, of a THIRD tower, WTC Building 7, at 5:20 in the afternoon of September 11th. This 47-story steel and concrete structure was not hit by an airplane or significant debris; its rapid implosion was not mentioned in the 9/11 Commission Report. David Ray Griffin, Professor of Philosophy of Religion and Theology, Emeritus, at the Claremont School of Theology and the author of twenty-five books, has written the definitive critique of the 9/11 Commission Report. It's entitled The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions, Olive Branch Press, 2005. The Commission's mandate, as Kean and Hamilton pointed out, was to investigate 'facts and circumstances relating to the terrorist attacks of September 11th' and then to provide 'the fullest possible account' of those facts and circumstances. What the Commission actually did however, was only to provide a fairly full account of those facts and circumstances that are consistent with the official conspiracy theory about 9/11. Every fact inconsistent with this theory is either distorted or entirely omitted."

A poll conducted by the International Zogby Institute found that by mid-2006, 42% of the American public questioned the "official version" of the events of "9/11". That percentage has increased since then, and we count ourselves among that number.
A crime that has had, and is having, such an impact on our world, our country, and all of our lives is surely deserving of a completely independent investigation. We hope that you will support us in this effort to seek true justice, and to change the disastrous direction in which we find our nation headed.

We appreciate you taking the time in your busy schedule on [date] to listen to our concerns in regard to "9/11", and some of our reasons for asking your help in obtaining an investigation that follows the factual evidence of this crime.
Although only [number] of us spoke with you from your [name of city] branch office, we wish to remind you that we represent a large portion of your constituency, and that our issue is non-partisan. According to a Zogby poll in May of 2006, 42% of the American public believe that there was a "cover-up" in regard to "9/11" - that the U.S. Government and its 9/11 Commission concealed or refused to investigate critical evidence.
If one lays aside the mystique surrounding "9/11", it was nothing more than a crime - the worst mass-murder in American history, but just a crime nevertheless. [Congressperson/Senator last name], there was never any real investigation of this crime by professional investigative police agencies. No detectives of the NYPD taped off this crime scene, and took photographs and samples of chemical residues for analysis, etc. No investigators of any kind gathered evidence, and then followed that evidence wherever that trail might lead to find possible perpetrators, as is normal police procedure. In violation of New York laws, evidence at the crime scene was destroyed as rapidly as possible, and the steel shipped away on huge barges. Immediately following this horrendous crime, while the nation was traumatized, officials of the Bush Administration and their media spokespersons told the public a story about Muslims with box-cutters; no proof of this story's veracity was ever given. Well over a year later, the 9/11 Commission was very reluctantly formed, and its Commission Report, under Bush-crony Philip Zelikow as Director, simply substantiated the story they'd begun with and ignored the vast amounts of factual evidence that did not fit that fable.
[Congressperson/Senator last name], we don't presume to know which specific facts would be most effective in convincing you. Therefore, we've listed below only some of the most compelling.
1) As you know, it is Standard Operating Procedure to scramble jetfighters whenever a jetliner goes off course or radio contact with it is lost. For example, between September 2000 and June 2001, interceptors were scrambled 67 times. On September 11, 2001, Flight 77 was in the air for most of an hour without radio contact before the Pentagon was hit. The top speed of F-15s is 1875 mph; the top speed of F-16s is 1500 mph - far faster than a jetliner's speed of about 500 to 600mph. Andrews Air Force Base is only ten miles from the Pentagon; Langley AFB is about 130 miles away. Where was NORAD? Why were routine interception procedures for all four airplanes not followed on September 11, 2001?
2) Firefighters in New York City are trained to fight all types of fires in skyscrapers; they're professionals. On September 11th, they knew that mere fire caused by burning jet fuel cannot bring down steel and concrete structures, since such fires cannot approach the temperatures needed to weaken or melt steel. Therefore, they went into the Towers to rescue people and to knock down the fires. NYFD Battalion Chief Orio J. Palmer reached the impact zone of the South Tower - the 78th floor - at 9:48EDT and reported on his radio only "... two isolated pockets of fire. We should be able to knock it down with two lines... " (There is existing audio of his radio transmission.) Eleven minutes later, the South Tower began to explode.
3) About an hour (South Tower) to an hour and a half (North Tower) following the impact of the airplanes, each Twin Tower suddenly and inexplicably began to explode. Starting at the top and continuing downward for all 110 floors, each Tower was pulverized at a rate of almost 10 floors per second, killing everyone in each building. In about 13 seconds the 90,000 tons of solid concrete in each Tower was turned to a fine dust in mid-air. (There were no concrete boulders in the rubble piles.) This fine dust spread out from the scene of destruction in a pyroclastic flow, such as that following a volcanic eruption, and the dust covered Manhattan. Huge pieces of steel were hurled laterally for hundreds of feet in all directions. Molten metal can be seen streaming from the side of one Tower as it exploded, and the "pile" of rubble itself contained molten steel for weeks afterward. Fire alone cannot melt steel, and the above evidence points to the use of high explosives. There were numerous eyewitnesses to the explosions in the Towers, including many emergency personnel who have testified to them. All of the above are well-documented facts, and can be seen in photographs, and both seen and heard in videotaped evidence, and videotaped statements of eyewitnesses.
4) A third skyscraper, WTC Building 7, was a steel-framed concrete structure as big as a city block, 47 stories in height and 300 feet from the closest Twin Tower (the North Tower). On September 11th, Building 7 was not hit by an airplane or significant debris, and only a few small fires of unknown origin could be seen in its hundreds and hundreds of windows. At 5:20 in the afternoon of September 11th, Building 7 suddenly imploded into its own footprint. It cascaded to earth in less than seven seconds in the manner of a controlled demolition. The implosion of WTC Building 7 was not mentioned in the 9/11 Commission Report.
In the hopes that you would take some time to look into this important issue, about two weeks ago through your branch office in [name of city], we mailed to you movies, books, articles and pamphlets that document all of the above, and much more. This material is the result of research by people with impeccable credentials, and is available to the general public.
[Congressperson/Senator last name], we want an unbiased investigation of this mass-murder - an independent investigation that has the power to subpoena witnesses. This is not an unreasonable request. Indeed, because justice has never been served a dark cloud will hang over our nation until there actually is an investigation into this crime. Moreover, until there is an investigation, the real perpetrators may still run free.
In your new role as [position on name of Committee and/or Subcommittee] you are in an excellent position to really make a difference. At this time, we respectfully request that you work toward the appointing of a Special Prosecutor for a Federal Grand Jury to investigate the crime known as "9/11".

A REAL INVESTIGATION FOR THE CRIME KNOWN AS "9/11"

This country is in dire need of an investigation that follows the factual evidence of the crime known as "9/11".
This issue is non-partisan. According to a Zogby poll in May of 2006, 42% of the American public believe that there was a "cover-up" in regard to "9/11" - that the U.S. Government and its 9/11 Commission concealed or refused to investigate critical evidence.

Laying aside the mystique surrounding "9/11", it was nothing more than a crime - the worst mass-murder in American history, but just a crime nevertheless. There never was any real investigation of this crime by professional investigative police agencies. No detectives of the NYPD taped off this crime scene, and took photographs and samples of chemical residues for analysis, etc. No investigators of any kind gathered evidence, and then followed that evidence wherever that trail might lead to find possible perpetrators, as is normal police procedure. Bill Manning, editor of Fire Engineering Magazine, in a "call to action" in the January 2002 edition, called the "three-day, visual walk-through of evidence sites" "a half-baked farce". In violation of New York laws, evidence at the crime scene was destroyed as rapidly as possible, and the steel shipped away on huge barges. Immediately following this horrendous crime, while the nation was traumatized, officials of the Bush Administration and their media spokespersons told the public a story about Muslims with box-cutters; no proof of this story's veracity was ever given. Controlled demolitions involve the use of explosives and, for a building of this size, take weeks if not months to set up. The implosion of WTC Building 7 was not mentioned in the 9/11 Commission Report.
Over the past six years, many investigative movies, books, articles, pamphlets and websites have been established, written and produced that document all of the above, and much more. This material is the result of painstaking research by people with impeccable credentials and is available to the general public, although not always easy to access.
Why should the mass-murder known as "9/11" be treated as some kind of exception for which the Rule of Law does not apply? What justice still demands is a truly unbiased investigation that will actually follow the evidence and that has the power to subpoena witnesses. Until there is such an investigation, a dark cloud will continue to hover over this country; moreover, the real perpetrators may still run free.
Help save your nation and the world: educate the public on this issue! Demand a real investigation of "9/11"! Call, write, and/or petition your congressional representatives and let them know that you expect to have this grievance redressed, for example by the appointing of a special prosecutor and a federal grand jury to investigate this crime.
