Bend Sit-In at Walden's Office

Central Oregon Occupy Congressman Walden's office demanding end to Iraq occupation.
Six women (Code Pink & Rural Organizing Project) were arrested last night for trespassing in Rep. Greg Walden's office in Bend.

They took with them testimony from a Feb. Town Hall meeting on the "Cost of the War", showing that Walden's constituents are done with this war. Their "People's Resolution" calls for: troop withdrawal, no further $$ for the war, no expansion into Iran and coordination around the state to ensure the Or. Congressional Delegation acts in accordance with the Resolution.

Fran Davis of Crooked River Ranch, grandmother of a soldier serving his 3rd tour in Iraq says her grandson comments, "We are throwing money into a pit."

It's another SPOG!! When SPOGs unite, everybody wins!

Walden ignores District 2 constituency!!! 21.Mar.2007 15:27

BOUGHT 'N PAID FOR

(Rogue Report) We reported news about this on our 7 a.m. KSKQ radio show the Brain Labor Report today along with (new at the time) the update that the six women were arrested last night. We further commented on how this was a continuation of what had happened here at Walden's Medford office four years ago to the day, back on the day the Iraq war started. Some may recall that back then Greg Walden's staff slammed the door on constituent's faces saying Greg supported the war and that protesters should, too, As they slammed the door on democracy Walden staffers added, "We are closed." We made a video about it called "The Walden Lockout." Some might remember that several local peace protesters were arrested that day, too...

We further commented on this morning's KSKQ radio show about Greg Walden's ongoing attitude toward's his constituents - how he ignors them. When Walden does come to the Rogue Valley he often sneaks into town to meet with his corporate buddies at the Rogue Valley Country Club.

Local representatives of unions and ordinairy working people still await a two year request to meet with about Walden's support of Shrub's plans to privatize our Social Security System.

We are all locked out of democracy with this Congressman!

Listen to today's edition (April 21) of the Brain Labor Report. Gerry Cavanaugh is the guest.  http://www.kskq.org/blr/

And below are urls with more information about war protesters arrested 4 years ago here in Medford plus a couple other stories that highlight how this bought 'n paid for Bush supporter ignores his constituency... "Where's Walden?"

In solidarity,
Wes-

At this event immediately above (in march '05) we were told by Walden's Medford field office staff that Greg Walden would come and meet with us in April to address our concerns about privtizing social securtiy. Again we were betrayed and lied to. Walden never met with us.

I have been reminding people that Walden is the next Republican that should be targeted in the 2008 election. He does not represent his district, but marches in lock-step with the Bush administration. His voting record in Congress is a joke.It would be in their best self-interest if the people in his district votes him out of office.Greg Walden is a bum and shoild be shown the door.

Way to go, guys! Walden has been way too comfortable for way too long. You are awesome! He deserves to loose next time for blithely sending our rural Oregon kids off to die and get maimed in Iraq!

He Screws The Counties Too 24.Mar.2007 19:47

G$

His recent vote against the timeline for ending the occupation of Iraq was also a vote against O&C funding for libraries in his District that will soon close due to the loss of the timber saftey net payments. $$$ for war, not for Oregon communities...
