For over four years a demonstrators have gathered every Saturday for a Peace vigil in Eugene, Oregon. On March 3, 2007 the group was visited by Jorge Varela from Chile. Varela came to Oregon for a conference in Corvallis. While there he took a walk downtown and saw a group of Peace Protesters. On Saturday, March 3, while visiting Eugene he again took a walk through the City Center and saw a group of protesters. He stopped to ask the group if this was common in the United States. He told them that in Chile, on the TV, they never see anything about people in the US demonstrating for peace, but only see Bush talking about what people he is going to kill. Varela promised to return to Chile and let people know that people are protesting all over the United States.
