New York City lawyer Lynne Stewart is acclaimed for defending poor people, radicals of color, and controversial figures. She was sentenced to 28 months in prison on charges of abetting terrorism in a trial described as "a triumph of fear over reason" by Mumia Abu-Jamal. Stewart will discuss her appeal and the inspiration she draws from a legacy of female resistance to repression.
