It appears our dear Victoria Taft just can't find any good news these days, and has resorted to making it up. How better to get all of her faithful blog and radio followers fired up than a good Portland Public Schools scandal? Well, if it isn't happening, it seems she's all to willing to drive her blog directly into fantasy land to get it.
Recently posted to her blog site ( http://www.victoriataft.com), Victoria alleges that PPS has used their email system to promote the President's day rally at the capital by the Stand for Children organization. Her proof? A half baked undeliverable email header, sent to the PPS's mailing lists with a subject line claiming the success of 1,000+ Portlanders and six school district board members in attendance. Not only that, but the "creator" was stupid enough to not change the send date, listed as Friday, February 16, 2007, without considering that President's day was on Monday, February 19 this year.
The mere fact that she has posted only the context of the email header, (without any body and a refusal to do so) containing the return email postmaster address leads me to believe someone sent her this little tidbit with such glorious claims that she couldn't help herself but to post it without doing her homework.
If she happens to offer some better evidence, I'm all to happy to recant my findings on lack of explanation. Until then, shame shame Victoria, you'd do better to stick with the porn.
