Here's a paragraph from the aforementioned article by Joseph Murtagh...
--> Many of the original questions put to the 9/11 Commission by the Family Steering Committee have since become staples of what's known as the 9/11 truth movement. For instance, as the widows point out, exactly what made WTC 7 collapse when it was never hit by a plane is still just as much of an enigma today as it was prior to the 9/11 Commission, and they also wonder why NORAD's protocols weren't followed during the attacks. Moreover, they find it strange that 9/11 isn't listed on Osama bin Laden's FBI most wanted poster, when the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings in Africa are. (In June of 2006, Muckraker Report editor Ed Haas spoke on the phone with Rex Tomb, Chief of Investigative Publicity for the FBI, who told him the reason why 9/11 wasn't listed on the poster was because Osama bin Laden had never been formally indicted by the Justice Department in connection with 9/11 and the FBI has no hard evidence linking him to the attacks). <--
Let's think about this one a bit. The United States has spent billions poking around caves in Afghanistan, lost lives, inflicted death on thousands of innocent Afghan civilians who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and allowed the heroin trade to bounce back to pre-Taliban levels. Yet we have NO HARD EVIDENCE the guy we're looking for is actually guilty.
Yet both Republicans and Democrats tirelessly compete to sound tough about the need to hunt down bin Laden. Every blurry little home movie that shows bin Laden standing by a machine gun gets posted on the pages of America's newspapers. Television and radio, whether it's Fox News or Air America, harp relentlessly about Osama bin Laden being guilty and needing to find him. Even somebody like Randi Rhodes will yell frenetically about how "we know who did 9-11" and blame bin Laden.
The problem is, folks, there's no hard evidence linking Osama bin Laden to 9-11, according to the Chief of Investigative Publicity at the FBI. Over five years passed since 9-11 and despite all the wiretapping and torture and renditioning, NO HARD EVIDENCE linking bin Laden. So why isn't that the subject of a CBS News special report? Why aren't political candidates condemning the Bush Admin for its failure to find hard evidence? Why isn't there a congressional committee looking into the failure to produce hard evidence on 9-11.
God gave y'all a brain. Think about it people!
