A Father's Grief

On the east side of the bridge leading away from Ft.Lewis stood the pro-war group (just a handful of people blaring country music and John Phillip Sousa marches) and a father standing beside a car that has pictures of his son who died in Iraq in 2004.

He is traveling around the country, sharing his grief so that we all can understand what it is like to have lost a son in Iraq. Like Cindy, he might ask, what was the noble purpose for which his son gave his life. For him Watada is absolutely right.

If only 75% of the country had not eagerly rushed to war. If only people could think about what this kind of loss means before it happens.
