Hunting for Blind People

Republican Representative Edmund Kuempel of Texas is proposing a bill to allow legally blind people to hunt with laser weapon sights or lighted pointed instruments.

He is introducing this bill in their 2007 Legislature Session.
Representative Kuempel stated ""This opens up the fun of hunting to additional people, and I think that's great."

Currently, a blind person can already already as long as they have a sighted guide.

The reason laser sights are prohibited now is due to the fact it often causes the animal to stand still, much like the "deer caught in headlights" effect.

What a waste of taxpayers' money. This is definitely a special interest venture and I hope it doesn't spread across the country. Hell, Cheney who is sighted couldn't even go hunting without shooting his friend in the face.

Above all that, the animals deserve so much more.

If you are blind, have a guide and need to eat, then more power to you. What really pisses me off about this is that the blind hunter is required to have a sighted guide with them already, and will be required still if this passes, so what the hell is the point of allowing laser sights to be used?! The blind hunter and her/his guide have no need for it, unless they want easy, prize game kills... What a waste of time and money.

can you beleive that???wow!!!!!!!!that is some special interest all right. that makes so sense at all. that's an accident waiting to happen. people who can see are idiots enough about hunting.......much less a blind person or considered blind, as they say.
