November 24th, 2006 - CMI Chiapas writes: In a press conference given today by the APPO at 2pm at the encampment in Santo Domingo, spokespersons affirmed that they will continue implementing the plan of action as agreed upon with the Seventh MegaMarch which will leave from the Casa del Gobierno en Santa María Coyotepec tomorow, November 25th, and 10am, heading towards the zócalo to surround the PFP and reiterate their principle demands. Additionlly, they made known the testimony of a neighbor of the '5 Señores' barricade, who was witness to an attack on said barricade by thugs and paramilitaries that left 2 compañeros kidnapped and detained. These two cases of torture are not isolated however, as Lic. Yésica Sánchez Maya, president of the Mexican League of Human Rights Defense (LIMEDDH), made known in another press conference regarding the torture of Eliud Amni Martínez Sánchez, who had also been tortured and is currently being detained.

According to the Geneva Conventions of war (1949)which is the anti-fascist side, torturing prisoners of war is a war crime, and there can be no torturing for any reason. Name, rank, and number, as well as birthdate is all the prisoner is required to give to his or her captives. Another war crime is the targeting of civilians. It is a war crime to target and kill civilians. It is also a war crime to practice collective punishment. All three of these war crimes are clearly being perpetrated against the APPO by the Government of oaxaca and Calderon of Federal Mexico, the federales militare, and the paramilitaries. The 20 deaths against these unarmed worker journalists (Brad Will), trade unionists, Peasant farmers, teachers , students and womans liberationists is clearly as defined by the Geneva Conventions, war crimes. The teachers are workers , and are presenting a social programme necessary to the impoving of working and living conditions. The mega demonstrations ought to continue as the NLF of Vietnam proved, even in the toughest time of armed aggression from the imperialist forces both forms of struggle must take place the peaceful teach-in politically (Andres manuel Lopez Obrador) and the armed resistence of the peoples to put a stop to the killing of innocent people. Viva Geneva conventions, the anti-fascist side of the worlds peoples fight for liberation from aggressive Empire builders.
