Just caught the beginning of Ch. 8 news. Besides the BS about the protest downtown today, they also dropped this bombshell:
Lukas Glenn's family has retained an attorney and they have released a letter to the city of Tigard and Washington County requesting a public inquest. They cite inaccuracies in the cops' statements and misconceptions in reports about the incident. [And just to prove the family's point, Ch. 8 leads off this segment with: "The family of Lukas Glenn, the DRUNK, SUICIDAL teen shot by police..." Beautiful.]
The one example they gave of an "inaccuracy" was that police said they couldn't use a taser because of the 21' limit. Yet they were closer to Lukas than that.
The family wants a public inquest rather than the usual double-super secret grand jury farce. Sadly, it seems they may not get even that. At the end of the "report," Ch. 8 said that the officers involved have returned to duty. Doesn't that pretty much preclude any possibility of criminal charges being brought against them - which (as Schrunk has taken great pains to remind us all) is the only purpose of the grand jury?
