Ms. Dorn will speak to the Council about the World Bank's mission to reduce poverty and improve living standards in the developing world. She will also talk about US goals for the bank, its successes, failures, and on-going challenges, and whether or not it cooperates effectively with USAID, governments, non-profit organizations and the UN. Prior to her obtaining her current position, her fourth Presidential appointment, she served as Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration, one of six operating administrations in the Department of Transportation. She also served as Assistant Secretary for Policy at the Department of Labor under President George H.W. Bush, and as the Associate Deputy Secretary of Transportation under President Reagan. Ms. Dorn is a graduate of Oregon State University. We hope you will join us for this interesting presentation.
