felt it up here by tabor 03.Aug.2006 03:24

near hawthorne

felt like someone shook me up and down briefly. i recorded the exact time off this clock i have that's synched up with the atomic clock: 1:39:40, 22 secs after that report says. i guess that's how long the shock wave took to get here from epicenter?

.

only felt the tiniest jilt in my home, thought briefly of an earthquake, and then considered it all an illusion - thanks to indymedia, once again, for reasserting my sanity.

I knew that's what it was! 03.Aug.2006 08:21

ex-Californian

So it was about 15 miles away and 7 miles down. Mt. St. Helens has had a lot of 3.X quakes lately, too. If you buy into the interconnectedness theory of the universe, it's not too surprising. There's an awful lot anguish and horror being inflicted on people by other people. Sure would be a good thing if Jesus would come back, march into the White House, and kick the Satanic shit out of Bush, Cheney, Condi, etc, etc. Wouldn't be a minute too soon.

this wouldn't even be news in earthquake country

I was present for the '89 quake in California and the '01 quake in Seattle. Once I was on the road and everybody was pulling over because they thought they'd blown a tire. Then all the radio stations went off the air because the power was out. It took me six hours to get home because a landslide closed a highway or something, there were gas lines and traffic was jammed and crazy everywhere.

The other time I was out on the street and I was afraid something was going to fall on me.

I thought this one was just a truck going by.
