- - Captured Israeli soldiers were in Lebanon when clashes happened ! - -

Claims that Hezbollah breached Israeli border are false.

Has the media has been lying to us all along to justify the horrific Israeli military action against Lebanon?
We have all been told that Hezbollah breached Israeli borders and captured Israeli soldiers from behind the Israeli lines and this has been the justification for the annialation of lebanon and the killing of around 400 lebanese people and 4 U.N. observers.
Initial reports of the event were that the Israeli soldiers were captured on Lebanese territory after clashes between the IDF and Hezbollah, but now it has emerged that the Soldiers were captured near the town of Aitaa al-Chaab well inside the Lebanese border.
this one is from forbes.com
The militant group Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers during clashes Wednesday across the border in southern Lebanon, prompting a swift reaction from Israel, which sent ground forces into its neighbor to look for them.

The forces were trying to keep the soldiers' captors from moving them deeper into Lebanon, Israeli government officials said on condition of anonymity.

The story was quickly changed to imply that the soldiers were captured along the border, and then changed again to suggest that hezbollah had captured the soldiers from within Israel.

The fact that Israel were the aggressors in this incident completely removes all possible justification for Israeli's bombing campaign in Lebanon and now the case is perfectly clear, Israel are in gross violation of international law and should be immediately sanctioned.

The UNIFIL Record 27.Jul.2006 10:38

It is the contention of the Arab world that the Israeli patrol was operating in Lebanon when it was attacked by Hezbollah. And, who is to say that it is not true? Just because Israel and the West claim otherwise doesn't make it so either. But, it is a fact that israel has violated the "Blue Line" thousands of times with ground incursions and intel-gathering flyovers. Hezbollah's violations of the Blue Line, on the other hand, only number in the hundreds. And, these facts have been compiled by UNIFIL and verified by the United Nations. No wonder Israel bombed the UNIFIL base.

"The Secretary-General further reported to the Security Council on 20 July 2001. According to the report, the situation during the period from January to July 2001 had been generally stable, with the exception of ongoing tensions and breaches of the Blue Line connected with the dispute over the Shab'a Farms area. There continued to be numerous minor ground violations, those from the Israeli side largely attributable to the construction of a fence along the line. Those from the Lebanese side amounted to crossings by shepherds and occasional vehicles.

Regarding air violations, the report stated that Israeli aircraft violated the line on an almost daily basis, penetrating deep into Lebanese airspace. The report further described several incidents, including demonstrations on the Lebanese side, exchanges of fire between Israeli soldiers and Hizbollah, and destruction of a Syrian army radar position in the Bekaa Valley."

It's no suprise 27.Jul.2006 10:51

Israel's never had any respect for their borders. They've never officially even declared their borders. Since withdrawing from Lebanon, they've crossed the border into Lebanon numerous times.

So, it's no suprise, their overblown reaction to the kidnappings (something that's occured numerous times on both sides) are nothing but a cheap pretext for expansion.

USraeli incursion into Lebanon 07.Aug.2006 20:04

Clearly the Israeli commando's were captured and arrested inside Lebanon's borders. A clear violation of U.N. resolutions, the charter, international humanitarian law. War crimes.
