My name is Feral I'm new to PDX but am interested in starting up a Non Profit radical GLBTQ show space. The mission would be along the lines of; to provide a space that could facilitate the voice of queer musicians in the PDX community by providing a space that has instruments and recording equipment available, a practice space for bands, and a show space to help propel queer voices to the top of PDX music scenes.
So right now I'm currently invested in establishing non profit status, and locating potential grants. One of the biggest problems is that in my vision the space would not be hierarchal, but to apply for Non Profit status there has to be a boards of directors.
