Gingrich declares World War Three

"This is World War III," Gingrich said.

"This is World War III," Gingrich said. And once that's accepted, he said calls for restraint would fall away:

"Israel wouldn't leave southern Lebanon as long as there was a single missile there. I would go in and clean them all out and I would announce that any Iranian airplane trying to bring missiles to re-supply them would be shot down. This idea that we have this one-sided war where the other team gets to plan how to kill us and we get to talk, is nuts."

Paul Revere says:These nuts like Bush and Gingrich must be stopped! I wonder if the folks in Russia and China mind if we conquer the world?
Gingrich is an idiot, and I encourage him to his plans 17.Jul.2006 03:26

He thinks voters are going to flock to the republicans if they talk about WW3. How twisted and fucked up do you have to be to use global war as a campaign strategy, not to mention getting excited about such a prospect. Well many have said that the human race has a death wish...

Encourage Gingrich? Think twice. 17.Jul.2006 07:01

I'd like nothing better than to see Newt the Grinch fall on his face. However, the notin of encouraging him to advance a totally insane plan is very dangerous. The fly in this particular ointment is the electorate itself. H.L. Mencken once observed, "Nobody ever went broke underestimating wisdom the of the American public." OK, OK--Mencken actually said "taste," not "wisdom." But the point remains. Every time you think a given idea is so dumb the public will never fall for it, they do. I remember thinking in 1980, "God, I hope the Republicans are dumb enough to nominate Reagan. He's about the only candidate Carter is strong enough to beat." The rest is history. Sad history.

And of course there is one more little problem with this strategy. Even if the public is smart enough to reject the notion of voting for Newt so we can have WWIII, there is no assurance in today's Diebold world that the outcome of the election will in any way resemble the peace-seeking will of the people.

if you 17.Jul.2006 07:25

tune into some of the TV christian channels (and yes, I have to put a disclaimer that doing so could harm your soul) you can view the artistically drawn Family Tree of Evil

On it, they depict branches with every Arab nation on them while a preacher uses his pointing stick to elaborate on each branches evil

CNN says it too--WWIII 17.Jul.2006 07:43

Glen Beck (ugh, I just happened on him) has been talking about WWIII for 2 days on his show. I was dumbfounded and angry when he said "we all need to get on the WWIII bandwagon". He also showed the tree of evil yesterday. Even has Venezuela and Cuba on the top branches.
Here we go!
