the mike's gulch timber sale is now cleared for logging despite outrage from people who realize that salvage logging is NOT good for our forests. two lawsuits (including one brought by governor kulongoski) remain in play in an attempt to stop it, however it is uncertain how effective they will be. once again, it looks like it is up to activists to protect a unique ecosystem.
