New Sustainable Development on Mississippi

I was out in the free store today and found the community that I would like to see.
These new developments were in a box of free stuff that were dropped at the Blackrose Collective Bookstore and Community Resource Center last night. The fronts of the affordable housing was retrofitted for earthquakes using ultra sustainable mini nails.

These were topped off with a succulent eco roof. These units also feature revolutionary storm water management. The downspouts actually water the rhubarb below!

Hopefully the developers that are eyeing this community take a heads up to this new community housing and use some of these elements in their developments.
They blend into the neighborhood well ! 23.Jun.2006 20:36

I just went and checked out this new 4 house development, they are located just south of the Mississippi cooperative Haus. They blend into the neighborhood street scape very well, and carry on the 2 story, street car era construction context of the period. They are built to the highest leed certification, soilant green, using natural contruction materials of soil and wood, which utilizes the Northwests natural wet weather to help facilitate the process of the buildings bio-degrading into surrounding soil after many years of use. This type of building was very popular with some of the early architects who decided it was time to move out of caves, to gated communities with manicured lawns, dishwashing machines, electric toothbrushes, cathode ray coma, and their new home, the car.

let's build more! 24.Jun.2006 00:52

everyone needs attractive housing

This is a great idea, housing and farms collapsed into one development.
And, they are good looking.
The ciy should build more of these!
