This is the day of great light for us. It does not take great faith to observe it, just a heart filled with gratitude for the world around you. I too will start my celebration early and go for long on this day.
at 1500 meters overlooking the metropolis from a local peak it was breezy and cloudy with a threat of mist. still lots of snow obscuring the trail and few other hikers. while resting at the lookout two ravens dropped out of the sky and caught raisons and nuts tossed at them! amazing to watch them so closely and then swoop over the slopes and back.
