There will be a solemn candlelight gathering to mourn the dead of all nations and creeds who have been forced from this world by the scourge of the US War/Occupation of Iraq. This event will begin at 9pm (dusk)at the Peace Memorial Park on Friday June 16, 2006.
Yes, we mourn our own 2500 (and already more!)fallen troops, but we know that literally hundreds of thousands more have perished in the 15 years the USA has maintained it's cruel stranglehold on that nation's peoples. When we mourn, we will morn them as well.
For location information, pls goto the website listed below and click on the picture of the giant living Peace symbol. Be advised that parking in this area is VERY limited so it would be best to park elsewhere and take the MAX to Rose Quarter Transit. From there go towards the river 2 blocks and you walk right into it.
Organizational banners are ok but pls, leave the signs and chants at home this time. We'll be using them again soon enough.... Please bring your own candles and drip catching devices
