Congress Gives Itself 7th Straight Pay Raise

This comes as no surprise to anyone, I'm sure.
Despite record low approval ratings, House lawmakers Tuesday embraced a $3,300 pay raise that will increase their salaries to $168,500.

They can't fund universal health care, they're gladly chopping social programs
to the bone or are eliminating them - but they have plenty of cash to
enrich themselves.

Presumably the GOP knows they're on the way out - time to milk the sheeple one last time.

I guess even they aren't convinced that there's no inflation. What a sick bunch.

damn it! 15.Jun.2006 17:46

this really makes me mad!!!
They put it in OUR----I REPEAT 0-U-R--bill of rights that they should get automatic payraises!!!!!
This is one of the most ridiculous miss-steps of the day, and they should be embarassed!!
It is pretty obvious to me that it is illegal for congress to speak for themselves in OUR bill of rights, it is ours, not theirs.
WHERE are the lawyers in this? It's bad enough that the difficult cases are so difficult, but isn't this pretty obvious to take care of?!?!?! Are the lawsuits too difficult? Make them easier then, do something!!
