He caught Jeb Bush red-handed stealing the 2000 election and caught the Bush
clan doing it again in 2004. He's followed the money to show how the War on
Terror has been turned into a profit center for Halliburton and others. He
knows that anyone who complains too loudly about the Bush gang's fleecing of
the country will have an accident - just ask the flooded folks of New
Orleans. Secret detention centers, torture, bag men and no-bid drops of
billions of dollars - its an armed madhouse. Hear Greg Palast talk about all
this and more as well as about his latest book documenting the sorry state
our nation has reached and the chances we stand if we fight back. Copies of
Armed Madhouse: Dispatches from the Frontlines of the Class War will be on
sale and available for signing at this event. For more information call
503-239-4991 or see www.theportlandalliance.org.

Announcement #2

MEDEA BENJAMIN

She was there at the beginning of the fight against free trade - founding
Global Exchange to help organize against the trade agreements that were
tearing our economy apart while bringing endless misery to developing
nations. She has worked to bring together disparate elements of the
progressive movement, including environmentalists, labor activists and
others. She co-founded one of the most successful direct action
organizations to oppose the war in Iraq and oppression at home. Code Pink
has become a symbol of women's power to resist the bloody policies of the
Bush administration and the exploitative practices of our male-dominated
world. Medea Benjamin will be making what will most likely be her only
Portland appearance this year. She will be reading (and signing) from her
latest book Stop the War Now! Effective Responses to Violence and Terrorism.
Don't miss this remarkable woman. For more information, call 503-239-4991 or
see www.theportlandalliance.org.
