Primitive learning skills for lowi-ncome people....

looking for help
HI everyone. Im writing these words cause I been browsing the Internet and I havent seen any primitive school that offers exchange programs for low-income people like me, especially for minorities. It seems that these schools are only for "privilege" people. I dont have money to pay for these classes but im willing to to volunteer work in order to learn primitive skills. If someone can help me with this please email me at  vslibredecosto@riseup.net. Thanks

Hi, I cannot believe that either. Why we dont have programs for low-income students in primitive schools? I know that there about green university in Montana but im not sure if they will be willing to help you out. Its about sharing people, not all people can afford to pay for things like this.

I don't know if there are any work exchange programs for what you seek.
Because you "don't see it", don't give up so easily.
Contact each one you are interested in, either in person or by writing and give them a chance to respond to you on an individual basis.
You might consider making an agreement with them to perform the work exchange prior to taking the actual course. Ya never know...until you try.

Rather than looking outside for an institution to save the day, we could be teaching what we know to one another. Last summer, there was a Portland Freeskool class on "Radical Botany"... we got together to learn how to identify plants using an indexing system, and went to places where local plants occur naturally to practice identifying them and discussed the usefulness of various plants. At times the class was "led" by the instigator or the most knowledgeable person, other times the learning was a group effort using resources such as books and one another's knowledge. I learned more useful info than in many classes in which I'd paid to be a passive student.

Do you know anyone with primitive skills? Maybe they'll lead a class. Right now, teachers for the "summer semester" are being sought:

Don't make the mistakes with the primitive schools movement we did.

As CaptainPlanets posted "Radical Botany" is a perfect class for that with hands on experience, knowlegde sharing and actually community building. The FreeSkool idea is to build community based on that shared interest or interests and tobreak down the "current paradigm" about education being a passive student waiting for the information of an all-knowing teacher to pour into the brain of the person. Last year I sat in on the first "Radical Botany" class and it was great.. unfortunately I did not have the time during that time to continue the ongoing course. Practically anyone can "teach" through portland freeskool and even if you do not have the knowledge base simple curiousity could be the needed energy to "recruit" those with part of the "picture" to help organize such a quest.... Ok let me restate this:
if you or anyone is interested in "primitive learning skills" I would suggest contacting the Portland FreeSkool and work with them (or separately) on seeking out individuals who can teach not a full course, but some of the skills. The parks bureau might have a suggestion or two on individuals willing to lecture or share their knowlegde on a specific subject for a few hours or www.tryonfarm.org/ might be another group to bring into the shared knowledge community
