Zachary Jenson, Lauren Weiner and Eric McDavid were arrested earlier this year in Auburn, California as part of the ongoing nationwide Green Scare. They are accused of conspiring to damage or destroy by explosive or fire public or private property and have all pled not guilty. Lauren has been released on bail, but Eric and Zach are still being held in the Sacramento County Main Jail.

In cases similar to this a letter-writing campaign on behalf of the defendants has improved their chances of pretrial release. We are asking that people who know Zach write letters encouraging the judge to grant Zach bail. These letters should be addressed to the judge, but mailed to Zach's lawyer, Shari Rusk. DO NOT MAIL YOUR LETTER TO THE JUDGE. Please mail your letter with your original signature as soon as possible.

The primary factors that the judge will be considering when deciding whether or not to release Zach is whether or not he is a danger to the community and if he will be a flight risk. Among the things you may wish to write about in your letter are:

(1) How long you have known Zach
(2) How you met him and how you know him (i.e. school, work, mutual friends
etc.)
(3) Any experiences you have with Zach that demonstrate he will not pose a danger if released from custody
(4) Any experiences you have with Zach that demonstrate he will not be a flight risk (i.e. his ties to the Seattle area)
(5) What you think about his character and reputation in the community; and
(6) Any experiences you have with Zach that demonstrate what you think are important aspects of his character.

Address the letter itself to:
Judge Hollows
U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California-Sacramento
501 "I" Street
Sacramento, CA 95814

Please DO NOT send your letters directly to Judge Hollows. Mail them directly to Zach's lawyer:
Shari Rusk
1710 Broadway, #111
Sacramento CA, 95818.

We are also still trying to raise the funds necessary to pay Zach's lawyer, and we still need several thousand dollars of the original $25,000.

Please make out donations to "Sacramento Defense Fund"
and mail them to:

You can make donations with your credit card or bank account via PayPal by making your payment to our email address.
