While Portland School Board head Vicki Phillips goes around closing schools for lack of funds and telling teachers that they will have to tighten their belts , why is no one concerned that she makes 50% more than the Vice President of the United States? With perks and benefits , she is grossing nearly half a million dollars a year..about ten times what the average teacher makes. If she really cared about Portland public schools , wouldnt she "tighten her belt" and maybe let a couple of hundred thousand go to the kids? Or is she just concerned about Vicki Phillips? I say fire the greedy bitch , and set the ceiling for school board superintendent at $100,000. Anyone who cant live on that does not have the skills necessary to lead a school district. Better yet , pay her what the average teacher makes.
