Hero? 07.May.2006 07:12

Crazy Horse

Don't go too far here. Remember "Joe Anybody's" hero also encouraged people to vote for Reagan and wrote "Let's Roll." Certainly some of these current songs have great sentiments--although I think they musically suck, but that is largely a part of his game (and I say that affectionately, seriously)--but this is another example of why heroes are bad things.

Hero status is rather lofty
I have been a Neil Young Fan for 30 years
Also I preferred to vote for Nader last year
Neil Preferred Reagan in the 80's (mistake in my opinion too)
Yes he did sing 911 Lets Roll, but I too,
first bought the Flight 93 Approved Story.

I appreciate his step up to the plate on this out of control president/current issue
I really like the line from His Greendale Live album that says
"and momma said a little love in affection
in everything you do will make the world a better place......"
And I like the activist slant of that album and not to mention numerous other songs of his

He has fought for the Farmers
He has Love in his Heart
He has stood up to Big Corporations
He is making an effort "for" a better world, in spite of a few mistakes like we all ironiclly do
I am proud of him

Hey - Jim Page kicks Niel Young's butt when it comes to songwriting and especially political songs and especially too post 911 songs. Niel Young is fameous and that's fine but lets not pretend that there aren't any other artists doing better, and more constantly, what Niel is doing right now. Jim Page is the man for political songwriting. best things are often local.

And it's about damn time.

Neil Young has made a good album...

But for some real hardcore shit I would urge you all to check out the new Ministry album titled Rio Grande Blood.

As more and more people speak out the mainstream is begining to move to the position that most of us here have held since 9/11 and the start of the Iraq "war".

'Bout damn time. I was begining to get really worried.

There is still a LONG way to go but now there's a glimmer of hope.

This one is all about 9-11 being an inside job. It's been out for a while now.
