Thousands line the entrance to the Wisconsin capital building today in Madison, Wisconsin. This morning, hundreds of students held a walkout and march to support the call for a general strike by the local IWW and the immigrant rights coalition. Native American singers/drummers got people excited during the first student rally in the morning. A Brazilian drum troop led the energetic march up State Street to the capital building. Along the way, the IWW joined the march. A popular image seen during the march and rallies was that of the racist Sensenbrenner with a big red X through his face. At the capital, thousands converged to line the steps of the capital building where a rally took place for a couple hours. Although numbers were lower than the 10,000-15,000 on April 10th, the energy broke through the rain into energetic chants and yells of solidarity and peoples power.
