Photos from the confrontations that appeared during the Critical Mass ride in Portland Friday April 28th, 2006, beginning at 5:29PM PST, in West Portland.
These photos cover the violent escalation between police and several bikers during Critical Mass. A great deal has already been written by firsthand observers. I was too far away during the initial breakout to see the event's unfolding, but was onhand to capture the arrests of at least three bikers and the citation of another.
critical mass is a fun, safe way for bikers to bike together in the road. the city of portland should be thanking bikers for unclogging the streets of needless car traffic. ride on!!
