SHAC 7 prisoners Kevin Kjonaas and Josh Harper had bail hearings today in
an effort to secure their release on house arrest. Kevin was released this
evening on house arrest.

Due to some unforeseen paperwork issues, Josh Harper will not be released
until this Thursday on house arrest.

Even though all the defendants will soon be out on house arrest, the fight
is far from over! They are due to be sentenced to lengthy prison sentences
on June 7th and funds are still desperately needed to appeal these
atrocious convictions.

Please organize a fundraiser in your area to help raise funds and spread
the word. For more information, visit www.SHAC7.com.

All donations should be made payable to "NJARA" and earmarked for the SHAC
7 appeal and sent to:

Dear SHAC 7 Supporters,

Just a few updates over the last week. Joshua Harper--the last SHAC 7
defendant in custody--was released from Monmouth County Jail on Thursday,
March 16th. Now all of them are out of custody pending the June sentencing
date. In the meantime, if you want to send them letters of support, you
can email them to the addresses provided on the shac7.com website under
prisoner support.

Also, there is now a brand new, updated flyer to distribute about the SHAC
7. It's perfect for those upcoming SHAC 7 fundraising events. It is
available for download at the SHAC7.com site under multimedia. It is best
downloaded using internet explorer. If you have difficulty downloading it,
we can email you a PDF version (it is a big file) if you request it by
emailing us at  info@shac7.com.

New fundraising events are being organized everywhere--please check the
website under the "Events" section for the latest details. If you have
been able to organize an event in your area, please send us the details
(to  info@shac7.com) and we'll make sure it gets up on the website.

Wondering What You Can do to Help the SHAC 7?

*Organize a fundraiser.
Download the support flyers, let us post your event on the site, and
generate some much needed funds for the SHAC 7 Appeal! Successful
fundraisers in the past have included silent auctions, shows, art
auctions, bake sales, dinners, movie showings, and lots more!

With so many activists facing serious legal battles, we know there are a
lot of people that need support. One way to help the SHAC 7 and some of
the other folks facing prison is to organize a joint benefit.

*Attend sentencing.
Right now, sentencing is set for June 7th in Trenton, NJ. Mark your
calendars and plan to attend! There is a slight chance that the sentencing
date could change. We will let you know if that happens.

*Donate!
The appeals process is going to be expensive, but is important to the
defendants as well as to the animal rights (and any social justice)
movement. This case marks the first time the Animal Enterprise Protect Act
(AEPA) has been used against activists successfully. It is
unconstitutional, overbroad and, in this case, is being used to stifle
Free Speech. Please do whatever you can to help fight this! Donations can
be made payable to "NJARA" and earmarked for the SHAC 7 Appeal and sent
to:
NJARA
PO Box 174
Englishtown, NJ 07726

Thank you all for supporting the SHAC 7, fighting for free speech, and
defending the animals inside HLS!

The SHAC 7 Support Committee
