1/18/06 update: As many of you know, Chris McIntosh was sentenced to eight years for setting fire to a Seattle area McDonald's in 2003. The arson caused around $5,000 in damage and was jointly claimed by the E.L.F. and A.L.F. Eight years, without restitution, was the minimum sentence Chris could have received under the terms of the plea agreement he signed. Prior to signing the "agreement," prosecutors were threatening to charge Chris with "using a destructive device during a violent crime (924c)," which mandates a 30-year, non-concurrent sentence if convicted.
Despite facing the next several years in prison, Chris is remaining strong and ideologically committed to supporting the causes which motivated him to act nearly three years ago. The continuous support activists have shown Chris throughout this ordeal has meant the world to him and kept him going despite spending the majority of his time at SeaTac in the "hole" without access to a proper Vegan diet.
