Seed + Plant Swaps.
Gardeners + farmers the world over have freely shared their seeds and
plants since agriculture began over 12,000 years ago. In a world of
genetic engineering and the corporate patenting of the commons we invite
you to continue this age-old tradition by sharing your seeds, plants and a
GE-free potluck dish with your community.
We?ll also be showing ?Seeds of Freedom? an amazing 20 minute video from
India
Who: you, gardeners, farmers, seed savers and breeders, et. al. Come even
if you don't have seeds to swap as there will be plenty for all.
What: seed/plant swap, video, GE-Free potluck. Please bring
empty seed packets all your own utensils and vegetarian/vegan dish for 4-6
folks.

Northwest Resistance Against Genetic Engineering to Host Two Seed and
Plant Swaps
Resisting the Biotech Industry's Attempt to Patent the Seed Supply by
Promoting Community Control and Sharing of our Agricultural Biodiversity
Portland, OR - To promote awareness among society of the inherent dangers
of the patenting of life, the genetic engineering of our food supply, and
the corporate hijacking of our agricultural biodiversity, and to promote
community control and involvement in the preservation of our agricultural
commons, Northwest Resistance Against Genetic Engineering will be hosting
two seed and plant swaps, including a GE-Free potluck and the showing of
'Seeds of Freedom' an inspirational video from India.
When: Sunday February 19th and Sunday February 26th 5-8pm
Where: Feb 19th - People's Co-op Community Room 3029 SE 21st Ave.

Those attending should bring their own utensils, a vegetarian/vegan
potluck dish for 4-6 people, seeds and plants to swap. Those without
anything to swap are encouraged to come as there will be plenty for all.
