Support for Sacramento Eco-Prisoners

This is an announcement from Sacramento Prisoner Support about the three recent arrestees...
(From Sac Prisoner Support; Please circulate)

Three people were arrested on Friday, January 13, 2006 in Auburn,
California and accused of being an ELF cell and plotting to blow up
cellphone towers, power plants and US Forest Service facilities. We were
finally allowed in to visit the 3 prisoners Eric McDavid, Zachary
Jensen and Lauren Weiner. They have all requested prisoner support. They would all like to receive letters and books.

When writing DO NOT discuss their cases at all. Use their proper names and do not discuss politics. Eric would like books about new physics, philosophy, alternative health and yoga. Zachary would like travel books. Lauren would like books about prison issues such as Assata by Assata Shakur or Death Blossoms by Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Right now none of them have been allowed to speak to attorneys. At this time please refrain from organizing any activities on their behalf other than letter writing. Mailing instructions are below. Please follow them carefully or the prisoners will not receive what you send them.

Lauren is vegan and severely lactose intolerant and needs nutritious
vegan meals. She would like people to call or write the jail and request that she be given nutritious vegan meals and be given access to the commissary. She is currently in isolation and has only been allowed to leave her cell for
our visits. For questions about support for the 3 prisoners please contact

Affidavit Supporting the Arrests 18.Jan.2006 10:46

Following Gumby's excellent lead of several weeks ago, here is the URL of the FBI affidavit supporting the arrests of Eric, Lauren and Zachary. It is posted at www.sacbee.com, and (again!) identifies a CS (confidential Source) as the primary inroad into the cell.

Text of US Code Mentioned in Affadavit 18.Jan.2006 14:57

I looked up the section of the US Code (Title 18 884(n)) under which the three are being charged and which relates to the manufacture of explosives.

Title 18 884(n) reads: "Except as otherwise provided in this section, a person who conspires to commit any offense defined in this chapter shall be subject to the same penalties (other than the penalty of death) as the penalties prescribed for the offense the commission of which was the object of the conspiracy."

In other words, the government intends for them to be tried and sentenced as if they actually HAD successfully committed the alleged acts that they have been accused of.
