The PCASC delegation consists of students, writers, representatives from Veterans for Peace and Friends of Honduras, labor and youth organizers and a capoeira instructor. We are raising funds to help cover the costs of the trip for people who would otherwise be unable to go on the delegation.
This Friday, January 6, Maribel Gomez of Friends of Honduras will be showing films (in Spanish) about the coup attempt against Hugo Chavez, followed by food and dancing. The event will be at her house, at 1006 NE Wygant, starting at 4:30 PM and going until late.
On Saturday, January 7, PCASC will be showing the film "Hablamos de Poder," which talks about the role of women in Venezuela's Bolivarian revolution, at the Musicians Union Hall, 325 NE 20th. 6 to 9 PM. Come eat some tamales, watch the movie, and talk to the PCASC delegation. There will also be a silent auction of art from Central America.
Any proceeds the delegation raises above the costs needed for the trip will go to social organizations such as a new school for muralists being founded in Caracas.
