THE FIFTEEN YEAR US CONQUEST OF IRAQ: GENGHIS KAHN STRATEGY

The previous fifteen years of US political and military strategy against Iraq follows the ancient siege formula. The US decision to invade Iraq in 2003 was made in 1990 or before. The architect of this plan must have been schooled in siege warfare. Bombardment, restriction of food and water supplies and disease are standard tactics of siege warfare.  link to en.wikipedia.org

Instead of a catapult or other siege weapon, 85,000 tons of bombs were dropped on Iraq. That is equivalent to five Hiroshima bombs. Precision bombing or not, Iraq's infrastructure was destroyed. The 20 million people of Iraq depend upon two desert rivers for their water supply. The Iraq potable water supply requires extensive water and sewage treatment. That capacity was destroyed by US bombing in 1991.  http://www.ratical.org/ratville/CAH/UScahIraq.html

Genghis Kahn's forces used catapults to launch the corpses of plague victims into besieged cities. Air strikes destroyed most of Iraq's clean water supply, it's pharmaceutical manufacturing capability and health care infrastructure. Iraq's agriculture productivity was also heavily damaged. Diseases such as cholera, typhus, dysentery and polio became epidemic. Diseases of malnutrition were apparent in many children. There are several approaches to the casualties caused by the UN Sanctions against Iraq.  http://www.antiwar.com/iraq/sanctions.html

The 2003 US invasion precipitated another 98,000 deaths.  link to www.zmag.org

Pillaging has been stymied by international law.  http://www.harpers.org/BaghdadYearZero.html A blatant attempt was made to pillage Iraq's industrial base. The US interim government in Baghdad offered Iraq's 200 government owned companies for sale. This was an illegal transaction, according to the Geneva Convention. There were no buyers. The prospective buyers feared their purchase would be illegal.

Conquest will manifest itself in less blatant form. The United States has asserted its military superiority over the world. The successful industrialization of a developing country has been destroyed. www.iacenter.org/Iraq/iraq_11yearsafter.htm
