Oregonians Challenge Federal Budget Cuts

Proposed Cuts Will Undermine Work and Hurt
Children and Other Vulnerable Oregonians

In letters sent to Oregon's five-member
Congressional delegation, twenty-four service
providers, advocacy groups, and religious
organizations in Oregon have expressed concern
regarding proposed Congressional cuts to safety net
services that help working families, children,
seniors, and people with disabilities.

The US House of Representatives is scheduled to vote
on a budget reconciliation package that cuts $54
billion from domestic programs over the next five
years. The cuts will disproportionately burden poor
Americans, including low-wage working families.
