You can ride the max to the Expo center and get off onto your bike and then ride over. Watch the signs very carefully. If you want I'll meet you there. But who knows?

Here comes the Vancouver Critical Mass once again. Everyone is invited and encouraged to come and ride to celebrate bicycling and to assert our rights to ride bikes. Out here in Vancouver it seems most people are afraid to venture outside. It seems they need the confines of a building or a car to constantly protect them from the dangerous elements. It's an adventure just to walk or run from the car to the indoors. It would be nice if more people would get outside more. In my neighborhood when I go outside for a walk or a bike ride I usually don't see a single person walking or riding bike. And I also get the impression sometimes that if you don't have a car you're are not really a fully functioning member of society. It's kind of sad. Especially when gas prices are rising and we're fighting wars for oil. I believe critical mass is a good way to help solve some of these problems.

Here's some bus info that may help some of you from Portland to get over here. I know of 3 ways to get to downtown Vancouver from Portland. There's the 105 express C-tran bus you can catch it at 6th Ave. and Hall, 6th ave. and Salmon, and 14th and Glisan. You can look the schedule up at <C-TRAN.com>. This is the fastest way. Then there is the 6-MLK Blvd. This bus leaves alot more frequently and runs alot longer. But it takes longer to get there. Look up <trimet.org>. Both the 6 and the 105 take you straight to downtown Vancouver. Esther short park is one block to the west from where they drop you off at the 7th street transit center. Then there's the yellow line Max. You'll want to take the max to the Expo center. And then you'l get off and have to ride your bike across the I-5 bridge. This is the most difficult way. But it's kind of exciting to ride across the bridge. I hope that helps you get over here. Spread the word
