Unless, in the 2006 elections, the Democrats retain their current numbers in the House gain an additional 16 seats, giving them the simple majority to impeach Bush, and gain 23 more Senate seats in addition to their current 44 seats, giving them the necessary two-thirds majority to convict, there wil be no possibility of constitutionally removing Bush from office.

Even if these long-shot results were to obtain in the House and Senate, it is debatable whether the Democrats would have the political and moral backbone to make it happen.

Throwing Bush to the Wolves 06.Oct.2005 19:11

Marik marik@aracnet.com

The ruling class won't throw Bush to the wolves until there is an independant movement big enough to threaten the ruling classes political monopoly. That is when you'll see the Democrats swooping in to lead the movement - lead it away from threatening the ruling class. Bush'll be gone but our faith in their continued rule will be back...and that's all that matters to the ruling class. As long as we believe we're too stupid to lead ourselves, they will be in power.

That would leave us with Cheney(Satan Himself) as president. I don't think that would be very good either. We need to remove his whole administration to have ANY EFFECT on the power structure that is screwing us.
