PNW EF! Fall Rendezvous Oct. 1st and 2nd...

You've noticed how it's getting chilly west of the Cascades
lately, right? Well just know you might find a bit of summertime warmth to
cheer you up next weekend on the eastside. So carpool with us East of the
cascades to Wenatchee National Forest...
PNW EF! Fall Rendezvous Oct. 1st and 2nd in Washington!

Yes that's next weekend: Saturday and Sunday October 1st and 2nd...

It's that time of the season again, this time its Fall and we're really,
really well prepared for this rendezvous!

Such Short notice, you say? Is that what your thinking? Please don't
complain... Please be excited for us! Think we're crazy! Laugh at the
audacity of our desire to plan a rendezvous from scratch six days before
it happens! Maybe ya'll even want to show up? As in revel in the
everliving message of save the trees? Ya'll even get another chance at
saving some old trees again too!

Same rendezvous site as last August!
Same issue with Boise-Cascade breaking their agreement!
Same debate over what is and isn't old growth!

Saturday and Sunday October 1st and 2nd,
in a Threatened Old growth forest East of the Cascades...

Discuss and Learn:

Plant Identification, Primitive skills, Current PNW forest defense
campaigns, Monitor and litigate logging operations, History of Forest
Defense, Gender and power dynamics, Forest canopy research, Treeclimbing
taught by OlyEF! Campfire music, dance, theater, jokes, hugs and warmth,
bring yummy food!

Directions:

take I-5 towards Everett, and take the Highway 2 exit toward Stevens Pass
and Wenatchee, exit 194. Those in Seattle can take 522 to Monroe to get
to Hwy 2, alternatively. Go over the pass and drop into Leavenworth and
then to Peshastin (about 4 miles farther). Turn left into Peshastin,
across the bridge, under a railway overpass, then take a direct right turn
onto Derby Canyon Road. This becomes Forest Service Road 7400. Follow it
another 5 or 6 miles to the top of the ridge. There is a bulletin board
with Forest Service propaganda. Look for our signs there, park and walk
about 300 yards to the site. It is on the top of the ridge looking down
on the sale and has spectacular views. There are big old growth Ponderosa
pine trees and wind to keep us cool.
