RED ALERT Y'ALL - fill up your gas tank TODAY

you may have noticed that the cost of a barrel of oil just spiked ubove $70 and is currently at $67. Gas prices havn't followed YET.

you may have noticed that the cost of a barrel of oil just spiked ubove $70 and is currently at $67. Gas prices havn't followed YET.

the concerns are the following:
-destablizing of the us $ through shut down of shipping (including china pulling back investments in us $)
-gas prices too high to get anywhere
-OPEC countries shifting to Euro
-major changes in the Yuan

This means that we all need to be really ready.
- other then the obvious: get your head, heart, and social networks together
- it is probably a good idea to fill up your tank TODAY
- why not bring along a gas can to fill up more?

... though I understand some people could not do without motorized transport, such as those who do contract construction for a living, etc. Those can always get a diesel-engine auto and use biodiesel:

the $70 price of oil is the FUTURES market. this is before taking into account any actual damage to the oil infrustructure. this is a ride we will be on for the rest of our lives!

I'm just talking about how nice it will be to have a little gas around in the community.

Ideally, only ride your bike. Idealy recycle cooking oil for driving, etc. etc.

right now, make sure that you HAVE gas so that we can use it for good over the next few weeks.

too late, gas is already rocketing skyward, up $0.10 overnight (29th - 30th) in Flagstaff, and some folks back East are seeing $2.85 already. Yes, it's great when you can bike, but sometimes, you have to drive...
